Everything is black and white
To the gleaming eyes of the hungry hound
In the darkness of the night.
My hands are numb with frostbite
And my weak heart begins to seize and pound.
All I see is black and white.
Barn owls begin to take flight,
Their downy feathers falling all around.
They are hidden in the night.
Frozen to the core with fright.
In the woods, I do not dare make a sound.
Now my fate is black and white.
The moon does not help my sight,
And I am certain I will soon be found.
I am lost amongst the night.
I will never see daylight.
All inklings of hope have now choked and drowned.
Everything is black and white
In the darkness of the night.
